    Expert for international and European data policies

    Are you interested in digital technology and the internet? Are you interested in data, access, ownership and transfer? Do you want to influence national and European policy on the digital single market and digital transformation? Do you have experience with international legislation/policies and/or working with international institutions?

    Position title: Expert for international and European data policies

    Workplace: Dúbravská cesta 4, Bratislava

    Type of employment: temporary civil service

    Salary conditions (gross): From EUR 1,800 gross/ The resulting salary is competitive with the private sector and will depend on the candidate’s experience and expertise.

    Job Information:

    As an international and European digital policy expert with a focus on data policies, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of national and European policy and legislation in the area of the Digital Single Market and digital transformation. You will work in a team with colleagues from the department including other units of the department to prepare positions on draft legislative and non-legislative materials within the EU Council, as well as on draft declarations, memoranda, positions of other member states, within the EU, bilaterally or within other international institutions (OECD, OSCE, UN, etc.). The work includes coordination and implementation of measures to meet the European Commission objectives in the Digital Agenda (e.g., in the context of the 2030 Digital Compass Communication: A European path for the Digital Decade). Last but not least, your work will include the preparation of background material for the management of the directorate general and the ministry within the framework of the agenda entrusted to you.

    Job Description, Responsibilities:

    • Developing and evaluating national and European policy and legislation on the Digital Single Market and digital transformation,
    • Coordination and provision of tasks arising for the Slovak Republic from international treaties in the field of informatisation of society, as well as membership in international bodies and institutions, including evaluation of indicators and processing of assessments towards the EU,
    • Ensuring international bilateral cooperation of the SR in the field of the digital agenda,
    • Coordinating and executing actions towards the fulfilment of the European Commission’s Digital Agenda objectives (e.g., within the meaning of the 2030 Digital Compass Communication: A European path for the Digital Decade)
    • Preparation of background material for the management of the directorate general and the Ministry within the framework of the entrusted agenda.

    Candidate requirements:

    • experience in international relations, optimally in the field of data, digital technologies and the Internet
    • analytical thinking
    • independence
    • communication skills
    • ability to work as part of a team

    Education and experience required:

    • university degree II.
