    Innovation diplomacy officer for international support for research, development and innovation

    Would you like to become an innovation diplomacy expert in the field of international support for research, development and innovation? Are you interested in innovation and at the same time would you like to find ways to reduce or eliminate regional disparities? Can you also write methodologies, strategic documents and deal with administrative control?

    Position title: Innovation diplomacy officer for international support for research, development and innovation

    Salary conditions (gross): From EUR 1,178.50 gross/ The resulting salary is competitive with the private sector and will depend on the candidate’s experience and expertise.

    Job Description, powers and responsibilities:

    • cooperation with other Directorates General of the Ministry in the development of medium- and long-term strategic documents in the field of investment
    • identifying possible sources of financing for investment projects, including combining financial instruments with the ESIF and involving the private sector in line with international best practice
    • implementation of financing scheme to support projects with innovation potential in the private and public spheres
    • implementing or coordinating the innovation diplomacy agenda in the field of international support for research, development and innovation in cooperation with industry and public administration, academia
    • finding and delivering innovative solutions to identified problems or needs, with an emphasis on regional development and reducing regional disparities
    • designing and collaborating in the development of instruments to support social innovation
    • implementing the agenda for provision of subsidies to support the development of the investment environment of the SR (research, development and innovation, social innovation with a link to the regions, etc.)
    • carrying out administrative financial control

    Candidate requirements:

    • previous work experience in projects (ESIF, EU…), other internal projects is an advantage (different types such as implementation of new systems, processes, methodologies, etc. – cooperation on projects is sufficient, it is not a requirement to lead or coordinate them)
    • good knowledge of national legislation/regulations is an advantage/not a prerequisite
    • innovative approach, positive thinking and not afraid to introduce new forms/mechanisms/methodologies not only for funding but also for effective solutions etc.
    • English language level: B1
    • university degree II. Level: B1 (English) English Language (B1) Level: B1 (Secondary)

    The candidate does not necessarily have to fulfil all the conditions listed above.

    • patience and willingness to carry out control activities (regarding subsidy settlements)
    • analytical/conceptual and strategic thinking
    • autonomy (in the case of a graduate, autonomy is expected after a probationary period)
