The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investments and Informatization (ODPMII) has selected the first accelerator that will help Slovak start-ups with their innovation ideas. Perry Media, s.r.o. as successful in the first stage of two-stage calls notified by the ODPMII on 26 June 2019. They are two unique calls that will trigger the innovation ecosystem in Slovakia by providing financial assistance to accelerators, incubators and start-ups. The amount allocated for both calls is EUR 830,000.
In the first stage of both calls that was open until 26 July 2019, the ODPMII selected the successful applicant, Perry Media, s.r.o. Altogether, 9 applicants got registered for the first stage – 5 with project in the field of social matters, information and communication technologies and energy, 4 with project in Industry 4.0, cyber security and biotechnologies.
The winning applicant, whose goal is to support development of innovations of starting companies, will prepare and implement intensive educational programmes for innovative companies. They must have the duration of minimum two weeks, in the education, they must focus on project management and making business models, development of business and possibilities for funding, as well as on presentation communication skills of starting entrepreneurs.
The second call, which is still open until 27 September 2019, will make it possible for start-ups to travel abroad and take part in acceleration programmes. In the first stage, start-ups have the possibility to attend an intensive training in US-based accelerator Smart City Works run by the Center for Innovative Technology in Virginia. Applicants must focus their projects on social matters, information and communication technologies and energy. On the other hand, the call in the second stage will let them take part in the acceleration programme Innovation Leaders Open Gate in Tel Aviv, Israel. It is intended for projects in Industry 4.0, cyber security and biotechnologies. Perry Media, s.r.o., which succeeded in the first stage of call will prepare promising start-ups for stays in Virginia and in Israel.
The current call is open for micro-companies or small enterprises – either natural persons or legal entities that have their business running in Slovakia.
